New strategy for tackling falls

The NHMRC-funded study included 300 men and women who had two or more falls – or one injurious fall – in the past year and aimed to assess the usefulness of the Lifestyle Integrated Functional Exercise (LiFE) program designed by researchers at the University of Sydney.

The novel intervention aims to embed the principles of balance and strength training into daily activities such as walking, lifting and stepping over objects rather than corralling them into traditional exercise classes.
