A nurse sues a GP after dementia patient assault
A nurse working in a residential care facility reported on a number of occasions that she had been assaulted by a patient with dementia. She stated that the patient was becoming more aggressive, and had pushed her and hit her arm when she tried to give him his medication.
In a later incident, the man grabbed and twisted her arm. The nurse complained of considerable pain in her wrist and forearm and was unable to return to work. She also claimed she was unable to perform any useful domestic activity with her injured arm.
