Relationships matter to the heart

There’s little doubt that increased longevity, genetics and other unchangeable factors play a part in the development of heart disease.

Yet these provide only part of the answer to the high prevalence of the problem throughout the community. Lifestyle and the environment arguably make up the majority of risk.

When these are considered, it’s usually smoking, poor nutrition and inactivity that are the major considerations. Indeed, the steady declines in smoking over
