LONDON The head of the Royal College of GPs in the UK has warned that GPs are facing extinction as they struggle to cope with dwindling funds and an ever increasing demand for care. In an outspoken interview Dr Maureen Baker said the decision to allocate less funding to general practice was “foolish” as GPs were shoring up the rest of the healthcare system by relieving pressure on hospitals.
