Nurse arrested on suspicion of insulin poisoning

BRITAIN - A nurse has been arrested in Manchester on suspicion of using insulin to kill three patients at a Stockport hospital. The 47-year-old male nurse Victorino Chua was re-arrested after further information came to light in connection with the 2011 Stepping Hill Hospital deaths. Police have been investigating the deaths of several patients whose drips they believe were  contaminated with insulin, and other patients who were poisoned with ivabradine and nicorandil. Many other patients also experienced unexplained episodes of hypoglycaemia, which were picked up by a vigilant nurse. In total, 18 patients were affected by contaminated saline drips, and eight died, according to the Manchester Evening News
