The state of Montana is suing the US marketer of OxyContin, following a multi-state investigation into the pharmaceutical company’s marketing practices.

Attorney-General Tim Fox says Purdue Pharma misrepresented the risk of long-term use of its drug and falsely claimed it was safe for treating chronic pain.
"Our investigation has revealed and our complaint alleges that executives at Purdue knew exactly what they were doing," Mr Fox said during a news conference.
