Doctors fear for future of healthcare in Qld

More than one quarter of doctors in Queensland say the state is performing poorly on public health, adding that their advice is often ignored, putting patient safety at risk. 

Among their key concerns are role substitution, closures of rural maternity services and the pharmacy UTI prescribing trial.

Many say they have little faith in the system and believe that cheaper alternatives are being put ahead of patient safety, an AMA survey of 677 of the state’s doctors shows.
