Dr Charlie Teo ordered to consult another neurosurgeon before certain operations

Dr Charlie Teo says he has been ordered by the Medical Council of NSW to consult with another neurosurgeon before performing two types of procedures.
Last week, the high-profile doctor appeared before a special hearing to answer complaints regarding his work.
Although the details of any decision made by the council’s “immediate action panel” are confidential, Dr Teo said in a statement he had agreed to recommended changes to his practice.
“[I have] accepted the medical council’s direction to consult with another neurosurgeon on two rare types of surgery and will also have retrospective discussions with a colleague to review outcomes,” he said in a statement.
