GP accused of issuing 400 vax exemptions suspended under emergency powers

Dr Anthony Evans has also been referred to the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission

A GP who allegedly issued hundreds of fake vaccine exemptions to Seventh-Day Adventists has been suspended from practice.

Dr Anthony Evans, 84, was interviewed by police last month, allegedly telling detectives he had issued 400 exemptions, with another 300 pending.

According to media reports, some of them were used by teachers at a Seventh-day Adventist School following the NSW government’s declaration that all teachers in the state must be fully vaccinated by 8 November.

On Friday, the Medical Council of NSW said it had suspended the Central Coast GP under its emergency powers.
