Greg Hunt unveils COVID-19 vax no-fault indemnity scheme

Patients who experience losses of more than $5000 because of an adverse event from a COVID-19 vaccine will be compensated by the Federal Government.
Minister for Health Greg Hunt finally unveiled details of its indemnity scheme on Saturday, some two months after it was first announced.
Patients will still have the option of suing vaccinators through the courts, with GPs covered by their usual medical indemnity insurance.
However, the goal of the scheme was to dissuade people resorting to legal action and to protect MDOs from the associated costs, Mr Hunt said.
