More clinics move to put GPs on salaries

Elora Health owner, a junior doctor, says his care model will be like 'walking into an Apple store'

Another medical entrepreneur is trying to tempt GPs to give up fee-for-service and take salaried jobs.

Last year, a company called Osana started opening clinics in Sydney promising to get GPs “off the treadmill” of fee-for-service, backed with a $15 million investment by a Hong Kong millionaire.

Now a junior doctor has opened his own salaried clinic, called Elora Health, in Melbourne.

Dr Jitendra Jain (pictured) says he will offer GPs a $250,000-$300,000 full-time salary so they “won’t have to think about minimum billings per day any more”.
