RACGP says it is refunding fees to doctors who quit its CPD program

The move comes as AHPRA gives details on what is required of GPs who opt to 'self-manage' their CPD

Doctors who want out of the RACGP’s CPD program this coming year are being given a full refund if they ask for one, the college says.

It comes after the college confirmed last month that GPs would no longer be required sign up to the program — which costs $945 per annum — to maintain their specialist registration and, as a result, access to a Medicare provider number.

Over the past few months, doctors have been sent reminders that their program fees need to be paid.

However, some have claimed they did not realise that, from 16 June, they would be free to report their CPD compliance directly to AHPRA rather than relying on the college.
