Survey: What do you think about the govt’s co-claim crackdown?

We want to hear your thoughts about the Federal Government’s crackdown on co-claiming mental health treatment items with professional attendances.

Earlier this month, it wrote to 341 GPs demanding an explanation for why they were billing such a high volume of attendances with mental health treatment items 2700 to 2717.

GPs have criticised the ambiguity of the MBS rules, which include a clause that if a consult is for the purpose of a Mental Health Treatment plan, Review or Consultation item, a separate and additional consultation should not be undertaken unless the patient has a separate problem needing “immediate treatment”.

We would like to know what you think.
