Registrations of all doctors in NSW will be audited as the state’s health authority tries to understand how one Sydney doctor worked unregistered in a hospital for seven months.

The unregistered junior doctor was removed from duties on Monday after Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital discovered she was not on the AHPRA register.

The 27-year-old was first employed at the hospital in Sydney’s southwest in January and had been fully supervised throughout her employment to August.

On Friday, the hospital operator – South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) – said it had reviewed the registrations of all junior medical officers in its district and has found no further issues.
