My exhaustion as a GP in this pandemic is morphing into anger

“I just want control over my body’s sovereignty,” sighs my friend as she sips her Prosecco.
I can live with the bungled use of the word “sovereignty” when she tells me this, but the discussion it heralds on the topic of vaccine hesitancy is doing my head in.
In an article for AusDoc at the start of the vaccine rollout, I wrote about the need to speak to the vaccine-hesitant with gentleness and compassion.
I still think it’s important obviously. But a couple of months is a long time during a pandemic, and I have to confess that in some situations I’m finding my patience can wear a little thin.
