We are not so soft: The hard realities of being a ‘marshmallow’ doctor Â

There has been recent interest in junior doctor wellbeing following derogatory comments made by administration staff at Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
Many of my friends have left medicine after being confronted with situations which challenged their identity, self-esteem, clinical judgement, ethics or morality.
Over the years, a few clinicians have lost their lives.
Everybody has their story, so I would like to share mine.
