Over the last few years, the TGA has faced off with the merchants of quackery, from the ivermectin evangelists to Pete Evans and his notorious BioCharger device

Now, it’s taking on another phenomenon of our times — the Instagram influencer.  

To the uninitiated, ‘influencer’ may sound like something to do with Russian propaganda. 

But it is those beautiful people with social media accounts — typically Instagram or TikTok — who are paid to post blogs, photos and videos of their (allegedly) glamorous personal lives while spruiking products.
