I’ve been around long enough to know there was going to be a huge reaction to my last column, where I challenged the misconception that fully bulk-billing practices only survive by churning through patients at six-minute intervals.

Many comments came my way.

I am a staunch defender of GPs who choose to universally bulk-bill, for whatever reasons. However, I am neither an advocate for, nor a promoter of, bulk-billing.

I fully appreciate that this choice of billing for our services is considered neither desirable nor viable for many GP practices.
