Which doctors get sued the most?
ONE per cent of all doctors account for a third of all paid malpractice claims, an analysis of 10 years of US data shows, and the more often a doctor is sued, the more likely they are to be sued again.
Compared with a doctor with one paid claim, a doctor with six or more is 12 times as likely to be sued again, the analysis of 66,426 claims against 54,099 doctors finds.
Having another claim is twice as likely for a doctor with two paid claims and three times times as likely for one with three.
