Bateman may sell off practice software arm

DR EDMUND Bateman’s Primary Health Care has confirmed it is considering selling its GP software business, Health Communication Network, which produces Medical Director.

The company last week confirmed it was considering a draft proposal to sell HCN, following a media report the company was in the early stages of putting it on the market.

The Australian newspaper reported that Primary could get $250–$300 million for the business it bought for $100.7 million in 2005.

Primary stated it was too early to comment on a sale price.
