Far from his principal practice amid the manicured lawns of Buderim, a genteel mountain haven on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Dr Kami has been immersed in a world of fear and uncertainty in the tiny nation of Tonga, grappling with a little-understood virus that may cause microcephaly.
Lately, the archipelago has been hit by an earth tremor and drenched by Cyclone Winston, which is strengthening and doing a U-turn, for which the population is braced for landfall later today.
The Zika outbreak has
