Nurse bargaining rejected by FWC

The ANF had applied for a low-paid bargaining authorisation for nurses working in 682 practices.

The FWC ruled that most practice nurses did not fall within definitions of low-paid employees. It said they were “generally paid higher than the relevant award rate”.

ANF acting federal secretary Yvonne Chaperon said they were extremely disappointed with the decision.

She said the outcome would “ensure that nurses in general practice would continue to remunerated well below their colleagues
