Dr Brennan, who won gold in the same event in the Beijing games with rowing partner David Crayshaw, finished fourth in their opening heat on day 1 of competition in London.
But the pair overcame a wobbly start to their London campaign and will tomorrow evening (AEST) row for a place in the gold medal race set to take place on Thursday night.
