Study finds refugees often B12 deficient

GP and academic Dr Jill Benson, from the University of Adelaide, led a team of researchers who collected vitamin B12, folate and haematological indices on 916 refugees who had been in Australia for less than one year.

They found that 16.5% of the refugees were vitamin B12 deficient, including a third of those from Iran and Bhutan, and a quarter of those from Afghanistan.
