Osteoporosis patients avoid bisphosphonates

Patients with osteoporosis are avoiding bisphosphonates because of the rare risk for atypical fracture.

Use of the drug fell by 50% from 2008 to 2012, according to a recent paper, and doctors say the trend is continuing, the New York Times reports.
