There is a growing public debate about the support being given to GP practices and their staff to deal with the coronavirus threat.
Patients are being advised to contact a general practice if they develop symptoms, but some GPs have said they do not have the resources to manage the surge in calls.
The AMA and the RACGP have also warned about the difficulty in doctors and nursing staff accessing protective equipment such as goggles, masks and gowns to deal with those patients arriving at their practices in person.
