ANF campaign moves forward

IT’S full steam ahead for the national campaign by the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) to get fairer wages and working conditions for practice nurses.

An application to Fair Work Australia is being made this week to trigger tribunal proceedings, to be heard later this year.

The ANF sent more than a thousand letters to employers in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania to kick-start collective bargaining in August.

And, although discussions with some employers have taken place, no agreement has been reached.

Senior Federal Industrial Officer Nick Blake said there was a view preliminary hearings would be heard this year, with a full hearing expected early next year.
