Is medical school without lectures now a reality?

Clearing out the garage recently, I came across my old lecture notes from a university unit in microbiology that I undertook in the 1980s.

I leafed through the A4 pages and found the completely unfamiliar content brought to mind the phrase: “He’s forgotten more about this subject than you’ll ever know.”

I must have spent the best part of a year sitting in a lecture theatre transferring the lecturer’s spiel about Yersinia and Pseudomonas directly to my notepad, without it impinging on the cognitive centres of my brain
