Setback for clinic in legal stoush over GP's patient list

A MEDICAL practice locked in a lengthy court dispute with a GP who left to work for a rival has been dealt a setback, with a court denying its lawyers access to its former employee's patient list.

The Bundoora Family Clinic, in north Melbourne, alleges Dr Siauw Fung unlawfully used confidential information when she moved five minutes down the road to work for University Hill Medical Centre.

Dr Fung denies the allegations, and her former employer argues it needs to see the names of her patients to settle the dispute, which has been running for close to two years.
