AMA(NT) apologises to Nitschke

In a letter dated 20 August, AMA(NT) president Associate Professor Robert Parker told Dr Nitschke a meeting of the13-member AMA(NT) Council held a week earlier had suspended him from the AMA. 

The letter alleged that Dr Nitschke's conduct in relation to the death of 45-year-old Perth man Nigel Brayley was "not consistent with the high professional and ethical standards… promoted by the AMA”.

Mr Brayley's death was the subject of an ABC report, which the AMA(NT) referenced in subsequent emails.
