Delay in doctor-on-doctor murder trial
THE trial of a doctor accused of murdering her doctor husband during a domestic dispute in Western Australia's Mid West region has been delayed.
Chamari Rasika Denuwanthe Gunathilaka Liyanage was to go on trial next week, but proceedings will now commence in February.
Dr Liyanage, aged in her mid-30s, remains in custody after pleading not guilty to murdering her husband, Dinedra Athukorala, who was also a doctor at Geraldton Health Campus.
Dr Athukorala, who is understood to have migrated from Sri Lanka, could not be resuscitated after police found him injured at a Shenton St
