Fight looms over control of medical education and training

A fight is looming over proposals to hand ultimate control of the accreditation of medical education and training to a new board of political appointees.

Critics claim that an independent review, commissioned by health ministers, will result in the dilution of the Australian Medical Council's role in the accreditation of medical education and training programs - including the country’s medical schools and specialist medical colleges.
