Going for gold – again

WHEN Dr Scott Brennan competes in the double sculls at this year’s London Olympics, he will be aiming to replicate ‘the perfect race’ that won him gold in the same event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

If he and his rowing partner David Crawshay are successful, they will be the first men’s team to win back-to-back gold medals in the event since the 1924 Paris Olympics.

Successive gold medals will cap an impressive rowing career for the 29-year-old Tasmanian, all the more impressive because he’s balanced it with full-time study for a medical degree, internship and residency training.
