Pharmacist gets two-year ban on pseudoephedrine supply

Queensland’s Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard Antonio Cosimo Ciriello, a Nerang, Queensland, pharmacist who has practised since 1976, had engaged in unprofessional conduct in relation to the regulation and sale of pseudoephedrine products.

A police audit found the pharmacy Mr Ciriello owned had failed to record 15 % of its pseudoephedrine transactions on an electronic database in breach of Queensland’s Drugs and Poisons Act, including on 12 occasions to one customer within a two-month period in 2010.
