Endocrinologist loses appeal over disqualification

An endocrinologist who was disqualified for having a paranoid disorder has lost her appeal against the cancellation of her medical registration by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Dr Shaheen Qasim claimed the tribunal unfairly favoured the testimony of a forensic psychiatrist, Dr Samuels, over the testimony of her treating psychiatrist, Dr Smith, on whether she had a mental impairment that would render her unfit to practise.
