‘In the public interest’: Court lifts conditions and lets GP get back to work

A GP who was dealt practice conditions which effectively barred him from treating patients in Western Australia’s remote north has won a temporary stay after a court ruled it was in the community’s interest to let him return to work.

Dr Nandana Erathnage was ordered in September to work under supervision following allegations regarding diagnoses, clinical note-taking and dealings with staff at Charleville Hospital in central Queensland between 2012 and 2014.
