Govt unveils 'once in a decade' diabetes strategy
THE federal government’s new four-year national diabetes strategy aims to boost coordination of care between GPs and other health providers, while also cracking down on food and drink advertising.
Launching the 28-page strategy ahead of World Diabetes Day tomorrow, federal Health Minister Sussan Ley says as many as one million people — 5% of Australian adults — are living with diabetes.
The strategy lays out seven goals for tackling the disease over the coming decade:
