GP attendances and expenditure predicted to slow

GP attendance rates will grow more slowly over the coming decade now that rates among men aged 75 or older have caught up with those among their female counterparts, a government report predicts.

Combined with the Medicare rebate freeze, annual growth in government expenditure on GP services will slow to 1.2% over the next 10 years, down from 3.7% over the previous 10, the Parliamentary Budget Office projects in a new report.
