Lyme disease GP given six weeks to find a group practice

A GP who claims to have treated dozens of Lyme disease patients faces the prospect of suspension if he can’t convince a clinic to take him on in the next six weeks.

Dr Geoffrey Kemp first came to the attention of the Medical Board of Australia in 2014 after complaints about his treatment of a patient with multiple sclerosis.

More complaints followed last year over his prescription of antibiotics and warfarin, and the Melbourne GP was slapped with several conditions, including that he stick to prescribing within therapeutic guidelines.
