New test for would-be GP registrars
Thousands of junior doctors will have to pass an entrance exam to be selected for the GP training program under a major revamp of the selection system.
The RACGP, which took joint control of registrar selection this year, is introducing a two-and-a-half hour online test to “better align selection to the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of an RACGP fellow”.
Around 2000 doctors will sit the test on 22 July at assessment centres around Australia.
The exam will assess:
