Pharmacies push for blood glucose checks

Blood glucose screening tests could be done as part of pharmacy health checks for 1.5 million Australians this year under proposals prepared by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

A copy of the pharmacists’ health check blueprint has been published in Australian Doctor, which says the document marked “confidential” has been submitted to the Federal Health Department.

The proposal says pharmacists should receive $50 for a 30-minute consultation
