Spike in scams prompts alert for practices

The RACGP released an alert last week expressing alarm at swelling numbers of telephone scammers “whereby medical practices have been bombarded with phone calls requesting general practitioners’ personal information”.

“While the RACGP is not aware at present of these calls resulting in identity, money or other fraud, the RACGP urges practices to remain vigilant if contacted by unknown organisations requesting personal or financial information,” it said.
