Two new appointees to APNA board

The Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA) has appointed its first GP to its board.

Dr Tony Hobbs, a NSW GP and former chair of the Australian General Practice Network, has agreed to join the board for two years. He brings experience in policy development after chairing the Health Department’s External Reference Group to develop Australia’s first National Primary Health Care Strategy.

Meanwhile, Cathy Pearson becomes the first enrolled nurse to sit on the board. From rural South Australia, Cathy has worked in general practice for 12 years and the hospital system for more than 20.
