A win for doctors: MBA to change online rules

As first reported by Medical Observer, the board finally conceded that the guidelines needed amendment “to make it clearer that practitioners are not responsible for removing (or trying to have removed) unsolicited testimonials published on a website or in social media over which they do not have control”.

An MBA spokeswoman said the amendments would take time to enact because changes to the wording of guidelines require careful consideration.

Until then, AHPRA has pledged to apply the rules as they are outlined in a FAQs document
