Ex-AMA boss loses court battle over care of former colleague

A FORMER AMA president who has pursued a two-year legal battle over a caution for failing to maintain appropriate clinical records has lost his appeal in the WA Supreme Court.

The Medical Board of Australia originally cautioned cardiologist Dr Keith Woollard in 2014 over his alleged failure to maintain appropriate clinical records of his discussion with a patient about the risks of coronary angioplasty.

The patient, who was a former colleague of Dr Woollard's and had known him for 30 years, suffered a stroke 15 minutes after the surgery was performed in 2011 at the Mount Hospital in
