Campaigning GP relieved at decision on autistic boy

A TOWNSVILLE GP who pledged to cover a 10-year-old autistic boy’s medical costs to save him and his mother from deportation says it is a great relief they received permission to stay. 

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton today confirmed he has granted a permanent visa to Maria Sevilla, a Townsville rehabilitation nurse, and her son Tyrone, 10, who have been living in the north Queensland city since 2007, when Tyrone was two and a half.
